Reviews and Ratings
The hotel is conveniently close to Ashford Intl station with good outside space for relaxation. Rooms were brilliant but a bit 'tired' with some noise issues at night. Service was mixed, ranging from a welcoming attitude to compliance but with a slightly resigned demeanor in some cases. The location is great for accessing the town center and outlets, but attention is needed for outdoor maintenance. The dining experience needs improvement despite having a good size selection. The hotel does provide a welcome drink and has potential with some needed attention to detail.
The hotel's rooms are nice with a bath, nothing too fancy but good for a weekend getaway and quite big. The room was very warm and just above the pub overlooking the pub garden. The service was friendly, with nice and very helpful and courteous staff. However, the hotel overall is old with stains on the carpet and flickering lights. The location was perfect for us to visit Canterbury, Howletts, and other attractions, ideal for Eurostar and Eurotunnel travel, with ample parking for car travelers. The dining experience was a little chaotic with pricing issues, poorly cooked food, and understaffing. The facilities were not the best, a little understaffed. The price was fair considering the value for money.
My stay at the hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. The rooms were spacious, spotless, and had a very comfy bed, but the early morning noise from the elephant training was a downside. The service was welcoming and helpful, although a bit reserved about my gluten-free needs. The location was perfect for my needs, and the dining experience, despite some service issues, was good overall.
